‘Quantum Mortis: A Man Disrupted’

Well, it’s official: I’ve co-written a military sci-fi murder mystery with Vox Day that, if all goes well, should be published by Marcher Lord Press next month, on Dec. 2. And it was a blast to write.

Set in the far future, our protagonist is a military cop who investigates the murders of “xenos” — that is, the people of distant worlds who seek Sanctuary status on the neutral embassy world Rhysalan. When he gets wind of the murder of a deposed prince, he’s dragged into a far-reaching investigation that spells peril for his world.

Oh, and did I mention that his partner is an artificial intelligence that resides in his brain? And is female? And is jealous of his attentions toward a pretty civilian cop?

Now, this being a Christian publisher of speculative fiction and me being a Christian, there had to be some religious element in the story. It’s natural for me. But I’m not gonna tell you what it is. Trust me, it’s worth waiting to read.

For now, be satisfied with the draft cover — and get ready for the ride.

  1. That’s completely epic! Congratulations! Glad to get a genuine sci fi out of you again (promise to still give the Steampunk series a try, one of these days).
This shall be on my Christmas list the instant it’s out : D
Thanks for contributing awesomeness to the Christian Speculative realm.

  2. Congrats Steve. Both stories are a lot of fun and some of the most entertaining sci-fi I’ve read in over a decade. I hope this is the first of many in the series.
